In 2020, a woman and her husband, a police officer, were trapped in a cycle of debt, owing 1 million rupees (approx. £2,300) to a loan shark. The only way out seemed to be selling their home. Understanding the gravity of their situation, Metta Trust stepped in and donated the full amount, saving their home and giving them a fresh start.

At Plantation Villa, Ruxton Farm, we are awaiting planning approval to build and open a community café—a welcoming space where local villagers can come together, connect, and belong.
The café will be a free, inclusive space open to local groups and community activities. Run solely by Metta Trust, it will offer a place where people—especially elders who often have nowhere to go—can meet, share conversation, and feel part of a community again.
Any profits from the café will be reinvested directly into Metta Trust’s charitable projects, helping to support people and communities worldwide. By supporting this project, you are helping us create more than a café—you are helping to reduce isolation and build a stronger, more caring community.
