Empower a Child in Poverty with the Tools to Thrive.

To build strong, happy communities, we must uplift the younger generation—not just by providing education, but by fostering a mindset of possibility and the confidence to create a better future.

Together, we can help children facing poverty access the education and support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
01
Supporting Education for Children in Need

At Metta Trust, we strive to break the cycle of poverty in Sri Lanka by ensuring underprivileged children have the opportunity to access education and build brighter futures. Our goal is to assist as many children as possible, and currently, we support 200-250 kids each year.

02
How We Work

•  We Identify Families in Need: Working closely with the local council, we identify families living below the poverty line and directly reach out to help.

•  We Provide Community Support: We also welcome families who approach us directly for help, ensuring no child in need is turned away.

•  Watch Your Child Develop: At present, our resources are dedicated to reaching as many children as possible, but in the future, we hope to provide personalised updates to sponsors about the child they are supporting, contingent on additional administrative funding.

03
We sponsor up to 250 kids each year, help us get to 1000 by 2027!

Your generosity can make a life-changing impact for a vulnerable child in Sri Lanka.

Your options:

•   £150 Essential Education Pack – Sends a child to school for a year, providing them with books, stationery, uniforms, food vouchers and other essentials that their parents are unable to afford

•   £350 Expanded Learning Pack – Provides a child with all the essentials to attend school, plus additional support for after-school classes, helping children overcome the limitations of Sri Lanka’s education system and opening doors to brighter opportunities.

Or:

•   Donate as little as £1 and help us reach our goal!

04
Why Your Support Matters

No child should have to forgo an education due to financial hardships, and no parent should have to choose between sending their child to school and putting food on the table. With your help, we can bridge this gap and empower children with the tools they need to succeed.
