Local schools face challenges such as poor infrastructure, inadequate funding, and limited resources, which hinder the quality of education and the number of students they can support.

•  Chithmi Pre-School: Struggles to meet government requirements due to poor facilities, leaving the principal unable to sustain it with personal and community funds.

•  Adrikaram School: Previously had only one toilet for over 1,000 students and teachers and lacked a library and playground.

•  Nehinna School: Had no playground or public announcement system and faced challenges in providing basic supplies for its 400 students.

We have improved the local schools by building essential facilities like toilets, libraries, and playgrounds, while also providing supplies and resources to enhance education and support the needs of students.

Before COVID-19, we planned to build a new preschool on Plantation Villa’s land to replace Chithmi Preschool and offer afternoon vocational training. With an estimated cost of GBP 60,000, we’re now fundraising to bring this project to life and provide a promising future for the children in Nehinna.
