In Sri Lanka, children with disabilities are often abandoned by families unable to care for them due to extreme poverty. These children are placed in orphanages like the Mayura Childrens Home, where resources are limited.

Mayura Childrens Home struggles with insufficient funds for essentials like utilities, medicines, books, and infrastructure. Poor living conditions, such as inadequate water supply, further affect the well-being of the children.

Metta Trust provides funding for utilities, supplies, and infrastructure improvements. In 2017, we built a water tank and installed a piped water system, significantly improving living conditions for the children.

Our future aim is to support additional educational and recreational activities for disabled children and help build new facilities for orphaned children in poverty.
